Paulsboro Train Derailment, Paulsboro, NJ

NOAA was notified by the USCG Sector Del Bay of a four-car freight train derailment in Paulsboro, New Jersey over the Mantua Creek, leaking chemical vinyl chloride, which is considered toxic and highly flammable. Hazmat crews are currently on scene. Rescue units have been dispatched to the scene after numerous people complained of respiratory problems. A number of people in the immediate area have been evacuated. USCG requesting assistance on toxicity information and ALOHA model.
